Serving as a member of the leadership team for the Teaching, Research and User Services Program; oversees the library services for the Hesburgh Library and six (6) branch locations. Primary liaison to various programs and units throughout the Libraries involved in providing customer service and library services. Direct, coordinate, and influence planning efforts around areas such as statewide resource sharing; creation of local borrowing privileges; and other emerging trends in library services.
The User Services unit encompasses many aspects of library public services for the Notre Dame community, its visitors, and research partners.

Working as a team member within the Teaching, Research, and User Services Program, Kara will work to transfer material from the Hesburgh Libraries into the Hesburgh Library’s Annex.
Michele is responsible for the supervision of staff in the Circulation Services Subunit | User Services Unit | Teaching, Research and User Services Program. Staff in this subunit are responsible for providing library services at six unique branch locations; Architecture, Business, Chemistry-Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Music and two Hesburgh service points, the first floor Circulation, and lower level Reserves, Microtext and Media Services desks.
As Supervisor of the Document Delivery and Stacks Managemente Subunit | User Services Unit | Teaching, Research and User Services Program, Clara is responsible for the day-to-day management of these two subunit service areas.
Excellent patron service is the core of our team and Clara guides and assists staff to meet this objective. In collaboration with Tracey Morton, Frontline Services Manager, she sets goals and direction for the team to ensure quality service.

Working as a team member of the Teaching, Research and User Services Program, Sean Walton oversees the day to day operations of the Hesburgh Library’s Annex. He provides access to the materials located within our climate controlled high-density shelving facility located off site from the campus proper. As Library Annex Coordinator, Sean provides:
• Materials that are held locally at the Hesburgh Library’s Annex, to current Notre Dame Faculty, staff and students to aid them in meeting their research needs in a timely manner as part of our Document Delivery service.
• He also provides Hesburgh Library’ Annex materials, either physically or electronically, to help other library institutions meet their constituents research needs via our Interlibrary Loan Lending service.
• He also works with the Reserves team to processes items for instructors, making course materials available to students in either physical or electronic format, in accordance with U.S. copyright law.
• He also oversees the re-shelving of all the materials used in the operation of the Annex to preserve the integrity of the Inventory Management System’s (IMS) database.
In addition, Sean also assists on the Ask Me Desk as a Reference Librarian on Tuesday morning, and he can also be seen Tuesday mornings at the Circulation Desk. These on campus shifts allow him to keep in touch with the Notre Dame community, and to prove to his co-workers that he’s still alive.
Sean has a Bachelor of Arts, Communication Studies, Broadcasting and Film from the University of Iowa (1989) and a Masters of Library Science from Indiana University (2005).
