About
Doug Wayman is the Cataloging and Metadata Librarian in the Cataloging and Metadata Services Department. Doug's professional role involves making resources discoverable through description and analysis by “piece in hand” manual cataloging print materials (chiefly) for inclusion in the catalog and made accessible through the discovery layer. He is also involved with remediation efforts to manage and clean-up system data/metadata. He is also "NACO independent" and works on name authority records, which are an important part of bibliographic control, which makes their contribution to a national resource, like the Library of Congress, a very satisfying effort.
Doug has an M.L.I.S. from Florida State University, along with a certificate in Information Architecture, and a B.G.S. from Gonzaga University, with a concentration in Organizational Leadership.
