As stipulated by Academic Article V:3(e), the University Committee on Libraries (UCL) reviews policies and practices relating to library resources and services. It constitutes a principal interface among the campus units responsible for providing information resources and services, and also serves as a communications link between the libraries and the University community.
The committee annually appoints a chair from among its elected members. It meets at least twice each semester, publishes its approved minutes, and reports annually to the Academic Council. One library faculty member is elected to serve a 2-tear term. Edward H. Arnold Dean, Hesburgh Libraries and University of Notre Dame Press serves as ex officio.
