Peggy Griesinger is a faculty librarian and head of the Metadata Technologies & Design Unit in the Metadata Services Program. Peggy and her team design and use programmatic solutions to the challenges of managing a complex network of resource metadata. The Unit creates, transforms and remediates metadata to support multiple applications across the Libraries' resource description, discovery and systems landscape. Working collaboratively on operational and development projects, Peggy and her team apply knowledge of metadata standards and information technology processes to support batch and record loading of vendor supplied metadata. Their knowledge of data languages, queries and frameworks intersect with a strong understanding of metadata standards, schemes and rules to produce crosswalks and transform metadata in ways necessary to bridge traditional library cataloging models with modernized schemes for web-based systems of discovery.
Peggy has an M.L.S. and a B.A. in Classical Studies, both from Indiana University Bloomington.
