Paula Bales Sr. Metadata Technician

Paula is a member of the Collection Processing Unit in the Metadata Services Program. This unit serves the Libraries' by processing physical scholarly resources added to the Libraries' collection in support of teaching, learning and research.

Paula locates appropriate bibliographic records, prepares or updates local holdings records, and performs complex record editing to improve and enhance bibliographic data according to national and local cataloging standards. Paula also provides original cataloging for ETDs in science and engineering, contributes name authority records to the LC/NACO authority file, and submits literary author call number proposals to the Library of Congress.
