The Executive Committee of the Library Faculty (ELF) shall consist of three elected members, and, in addition, the University Librarian, the Library Faculty's senior senator, and, when applicable, the Library Faculty’s representative to the Academic Council. The Edward H. Arnold Dean, Hesburgh Libraries and University of Notre Dame Press, the senator, and the Academic Council representative are ex officio members. ELF elects its chair at the beginning of each academic year.
ELF represents the collective voice of the Library Faculty. ELF shall fix the agenda and the date, time, and place of the meetings of the Library Faculty. The chair of ELF shall preside over the meetings. In the absence of the chair, another member of ELF will be designated. The presiding officer shall ensure that minutes are taken and distributed to the Library Faculty no later than ten days following the meeting. As indicated above, ELF shall also have responsibility for the Library Faculty Manual.
