As Business Library Information Specialist in the Mahaffey Business Library, Andy provides comprehensive business reference services to students, faculty, and staff in the Mendoza College of Business. These services include in-person and online reference, research consultations, workshops, instruction sessions, and orientations. He also creates and maintains website and LibGuide resources.
Andy served as Visiting/Adjunct Business Librarian at the MBL from 2012–2015.
He earned a Certificate in Copyright Management from the Special Libraries Association in 2017.
Andy's previous library experience includes six years at the Boston Public Library (1998–2004) where he spent over two years in the Social Sciences Department of the Research Library (1999–2001). As Reference Librarian in Social Sciences, he provided service primarily in business, education, genealogy, heraldry, and local history.
From 2001–2004, he served as Generalist Librarian at the Honan-Allston Branch Library in Allston, MA. In April 2004 he was presented with a special award from the Massachusetts House of Representatives in recognition of his dedication and commitment to the Honan-Allston Library and the entire Allston-Brighton Community.
More recently, he has worked as a Reference Librarian at the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library (2004–2006) and Southwestern Michigan College (2011).
Andy holds a Bachelor of Arts in music from Vassar College (1992) and a Master of Library Science from Indiana University Bloomington (1998).
